To edit MPEG2 files with TMPGEnc, make sure that you have a MPEG2 codec installed..
For royalties reason, Windows does not have a MPEG2 codec installed. This is why, on a fresh Windows installation, you can not play MPEG2 files
|
 |
If the MPEG file to be cut contains svcd or cvd OGT subtitles, they are brutally removed...

Advanced example, cut and join in one step
Let's imagine we have an MPEG encoded film with commercials at the beginning, the middle and the end. We want to remove the commercials, and add an intro video at the beginning of the film without the commercials.
And we want the result as one video file only:
Launch TMPGEnc, and close the wizard, if there is one.
Select in the menu "Files"/"MPEG Tools"
Select the "Merge & Cut" tabbed page
Select the Type in the drop down list
First add the "Intro" file , then add two times the film file
Edit the first "film file" in order to have the first part without commercials
Edit the second "film file" in order to have the second part without commercials

Click "Browse" to set the output file
Hit "Run"... and wait!
That's it!
